A proud moment
Yesterday, we headed to The Mumbles to stay with Cal and Sarah as Kieran was competing in the Cardiff half marathon today. We caught the early train from Swansea and met him and Sioned in Cardiff. There was a bit of a panic at the start as Kieran didn't allow himself enough time to check in his bag and ended up leaving it with a stranger so Chris had to go on a bag hunt!
After rescuing the bag, we watched the start and then walked to the 7 mile point to cheer him on again. We then headed to the end to support him on the final straight. There were 27,000 people competing so there were also a huge number of spectators but we spotted him as he's so tall.
He managed one of his personal bests and came in the top 17% which is fantastic, especially as it was his first ever half marathon.
We headed to Penarth afterwards for lunch at The Deck and then Chris and I walked to Cardiff Bay and then Cardiff to catch the train back. We planned on hiring bikes but there weren't any and then we missed the last boat! My feet were extremely sore when I got back and I hadn't even been running.
