A splendid building
After a gap of a few years I actually made it to the Knitting and Stitching Show. I got a taxi to Alexandra Palace and Joanne walked up from their flat to meet me. It was a lovely sunny day and a joy to be entering the beautiful Palm Court once again.
We saw some amazing textile art work, wandered many lovely stands, pondered and bought threads and beads, talked to some delightful people and sat with coffee. We took part in a block printing workshop which was great fun, we watched a fabulous Boys Sew Too Catwalk Show - a few familiar Sewing Bee faces in the show and in the audience (see first extra). More wandering amongst exhibitions and stands, then we ‘happened upon’ the Prosecco Bar!
Eventually we walked down through the Park, past so many people sitting on the grass in the sunshine, and arrived back at the flat to find the two boys watching the Rugby. Gordon had very nobly made his way early this morning to Sevenoaks to watch the youngest grandaughter play Netball - she is apparently very good (see second extra).
Finally the four of us went to eat at a lovely local Italian restaurant. A great day.
