A rural flyover

The driveway leading up to Nidd Hall has this rather elegant bridge where it crosses over a quiet lane. I am wondering how this came to be as it does seem a little peculiar.
It is definitely autumnal now, and rather windy, but still quite mild and good to be out in the fresh air.
It is another day where this is the only photo I took, so no difficulty in choosing a blip.
