What a fabulous day we had in the Lakes! We started off driving over the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes - climbs, dips, hairpin curves galore! I was grateful that Tim was driving instead of me. It’s a glorious, treacherous drive and probably even more spectacular on a sunny day, but I felt invigorated by the end - and relieved.

Later on we drove to Wast Water lake (see extra) and then on to Tarn How’s, before finding supper in Ambleside and then back to Grasmere.
