Inside the Wren Library
A full on tour of Cambridge today taking in many of the super open spaces associated with the colleges, the banks of the River Cam and as many of the college buildings and quadrangles that we could get into or peek at through doors and entrances as shown in the extra.
A wonderful day, full on interest and variety once we’d found the Park and Ride and orientated ourselves with a decent map and information from a helpful tourist information guide.
The Wren Library was something to behold and the subject of today’s blip. Amongst all those old books and manuscripts modern technology and clothing play an important part.
We also called in on the Fitzwilliam Museum which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. Kit was the colleges that stole the show, a mixture of history and modernity leavened by a feeling of elitism.
For the first time I was able to use my bus pass when travelling on the P&R. It was an electric bus too. Going join Uketok now downstairs at the hotel. We’re all here for tomorrow’s festival and we’re having a jam this evening in the hotel.
