White Cliffs

OH started the day with visit to care home with SIL to see representative from KCC regarding support with care home fees - in short, if you own your own home you get jack sh*t!  I think we knew that anyway and the house will be going on the market soon.

When he got home we set off for our first official 'Date Day'.  My friend S has been talking about date days for ages and I did think it was a bit naff to actually name days out like this as we do lots of stuff together and don't need an official title.  However.........sometimes the week just goes with routine stuff so I thought by setting aside a regular day each week/fortnight and taking it in turns to plan days out, we would have own own date day.  My turn today so we visited Bettshanger Country Park and mining museum.  The park has a cycle track so we took the bikes and after a beak around the museum and a coffee and piece of cake we did a couple of laps of the park.  The weather was lovely and we poodled around on our own - I don't think the park has had much publicity yet?  We then put the bikes back on the car and drove to the Coastguard - right on the edge of the sea under the White Cliffs.  Late lunch/early supper with a glass of wine and home by 7.00 - first date went well - I think I am going to enjoy these days.  OH turn to decide where we go next?
