Prickly Pears …

… on our day’s ride to the numerous rice fields directly south of our lodgings in western Spain. It was another very hot day, but we kept cool in our AC vehicle as we sought birds around a network of rice fields. (Apologies for the poor image.)

The plowed fields provided food which attracted many birds. Highlights were hundreds of glossy ibis, with white storks, egrets and lapwings.
