Fall, Leaves, Fall

It’s been raining leaves all day, like confetti falling from the sky. The mild temps and bright sunshine has made for a glorious October First • We harvested our leeks today, not the best we’ve ever grown, but at least we have enough for a potato-leek soup, or possibly two • Our Favorite • After filling up feeders and placing peanuts and seeds in a few familiar places I sat in a chair near the driveway waiting to see who would show up first. Would it be a bird, a chipmunk or a squirrel? • As you can see it was the always adorable Mr. Chips :) They’re comical to watch as they generously stuff their cheeks before scampering away to their den. He made several trips when something across the street startled him. I waited awhile for him to return but he never did. I got up to see if Louis the cat was around but he was no where to be seen • Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend!
