Cobblestones in rain

I've had a lot of grand plans this weekend. The radical book fair, children's clothing market, etc. But we scrapped them all. Stayed at home. Talked, about important stuff. Took a walk with Kiddo. Cooked dinner. I have been unusually present.
and now: the usual grief after parting. But with a pain that feels... good? Sometimes the loss can feel agonizing, long, sort of disgusting. Like a back shot or a tension headache. And sometimes the longing is more like sore muscles after a good workout; it's crisp and new. It comes of having done something that is good for yourself, and you will not be broken down by it but only become stronger. I hope.
