Park view

I walked down to the village late this afternoon to pick up a parcel from the Co-op for my daughter. She was going to join me but had dozed off after a late night in Guildford. The sun was beginning to set and I caught its reflection in the glass signage outside an abandoned restaurant called The Park, so called presumably because it faces the recreation ground. (Eyecatching will appreciate this is the other end of Chobham from the Co-op) When we first came to the village, this was a thriving Italian restaurant called The Green Olive. It then changed hands and became The Park but did not last long in its new guise and has been closed for several years. This is surprising given the premises are in a prime location and it has parking. space at the rear. Not that Chobham is short of places to eat, but one would think The Park could provide some form of business opportunity. Perhaps, given its central location, it could turn into more of a cafe and become a popular meeting for friends - Central Perk?
