A three eyed owl?
What do you do when you have time in London?
We started by looking for the local church: The Church of the Most Precious Blood. (Last extra) We found it easily and went in. They were cleaning the church. I have never seen a church that is so clean. Everything sparkled and apparently it was the parish priest who was hoovering the altar!
Then what do you do?
You chase the three eyed owl! We were just meandering about when Ro wanted to know what this building was. One thing for sure it was a lot further than it looked! We followed through leafy Peabody estates. We sat down in a play area surrounded by beautiful old London plain trees. In one I took a shot of two green budgies??? Living wild in a hole in the tree.
A little further along a quiet road running through the estate squirrels, semi-tame holding whole peanuts in their shells!
We carried on zigzagging and came to a school and found an inscription to Charles Dickens! Did he live in this part of London? There’s a Little Dorrit park not far from our hotel.
We eventually arrived at Elephant and castle station and Castle park (2 extra) which is full of elephants. All the elephants in Tembo’s family with an adventure to follow! Finally I asked an older man sitting in the park! He told us where to go to get a good shot of the three eyes! Apparently they are wind turbines that produce energy for the building and also act as air extractors. Pleased with the last shot which included a plane going by! My grandson told me that the building is called Stratta and the turbines are rarely used as it’s facing in the wrong direction! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strata_SE1
Also a shot of us looking into a hat shop! (1 extra) We had had breakfast in the hotel (3 extra) and had lunch in a Costa back near the hotel.
