First Church Of The Christ Scientist

Is located in Inverleith Terrace which forms the southern boundary of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh.

Whilst parking the car, I noticed for the first time this low relief Sculpture of a galleon on the entrance porch of the building. The architect was Ramsay Traquair and the building was constructed in 1910-1911.

I believe that the First Church has now moved to Young Street.

It is a few weeks since I last visited the Botanical Gardens and I enjoyed my walk through the gardens where I came across a patch of ‘Prairie Planting’

I have published  the explanatory board as an extra.
