Sarracenia "Fiona" flower
For Father's day the girls gave me three Sarracenia plants. They are:
S "Fiona"
S "Dixie Lace
S farnhamii
Fiona, which has been blipped before has decided to flower, I must be doing something right! One thing which is important to remember with Sarracenia is not to water with tap water. The chemicals in tap water do not agree with them. I use either rainwater or distilled water.
Sarracenia are native to the eastern USA but as the names suggest have been cultivated to increase variety. Despite their exotic look, some species are hardy down to -10C Being carnivorous we have hardly seen a flying insect in the house since they arrived.
