inspiration all around us

A modern pharmacist honours the past.

I ‘dropped in’ to Ambleside pharmacy for my covid and flu vaccinations this afternoon. I didn’t have long to wait, which was a pity, because this was not the only display of antique pharmaceutical objects on display in the shop, including an impressive jar for leeches!
Thomas Bell had established the Ambleside pharmacy in 1839 but the present pharmacist, Ravi Voruganti and his wife, Halima, who have run the business since 2012, have brought it into the 21st century. I’ll have to find an excuse to shop there next time I’m in Ambleside.
