One lost shoe.

A passer by has put this small shoe on a stone, hoping the owner will walk this way again. It obviously belongs to a child. It always upsets me to see a shoe or a glove on it’s own. I’m always losing gloves so I only buy cheap pairs but it pleases me to think that someone can benefit from my carelessness. I once lost a shoe in a damaged suitcase. The insurance company paid me half the cost of a new pair. Did they think a shoe shop would sell me one shoe?
