A bleak day
We seem to have got completely out of sync with our sleep pattern, possibly because of the clocks moving forward last weekend. We didn’t wake until 8am, so the whole day was thrown a bit out of kilter. We didn’t manage to set out on our walk until just after 11am. It wasn’t quite as cold outside as it had seemed from the inside but we bumped into a lovely Australian family who were finding the temperature rather challenging, given the temperature back home was 32deg and it was around 8deg here.
We walked to … guess where? Yep, Mitre10, as we needed to check out toilets and small washbasins for the “powder room” we’re reinstating downstairs by the laundry so we can just pop in from the garden. We saw one of each that would be suitable, so we’ll send photos to the plumber to make sure he thinks they’re OK and the measurements will work, then we can make a purchase. While we were there we bought two test pots and an aerosol so I can decide on a secondary colour and a touch of “glitz”. I put some more of the original paint on the ends of the cabinet and the two doors. Tomorrow I’ll have some creative fun.
We walked through the Oamaru Public Gardens this morning, which we haven’t done for a couple of weeks. The daffodils were still flowering, we saw some forget-me-nots and beautiful blossom trees. The paths were covered in a carpet of blossom in places. It was beautiful.
