Town scapes

In town today for the second time this week and I was struck by the contrast of these views, both looking east. The first, along Princes Street to the Nelson Monument n Carlton Hill. The second parallel to the first and 100 metres away, looking along George Street with the statue of William Pitt, St Andrews and St George's church on the left, a seagull and the Dundas Monument centre and the excrescence at St James Quarter on the right. It's hard to believe that planners could see that hotel as a positive addition to the skyline.
I'm pretty sure you used to be able to see Calton Hil,l if not the aforementioned Nelson Monument until the hotel was built - which was much more in keeping with the general view of the area.
I had the next part of my implants done today. The reopening of the gum and the insertion of caps to open the site up ready for the implants. It was rather more uncomfortable than I'd hoped, but most of that was anaesthetics. I've been a bit like a dental pincushion these last few weeks. The good news is that the implants posts are firm and have taken well hooray, and so that should be all the uncomfortable stuff over.
Three more appointments over the next couple of months, the last of which is a final check . I'm having a low key evening tonight and sticking to soft food for a couple of days. A good chance to have some of the windfall apples from the garden stewed. They are beautifully sweet
