Europe by Van Day 22

Day 22

The Macedonian red was delicious but after only a glass I had to retire to bed at 8.30. I think the reaction to the stress etc hit me and I was exhausted.

Daughter was discharged from the Freeman this afternoon with a sick note for 2 weeks. She’s not intending to use it but Phil is hoping she’ll see the need for rest. Her body has had a hammering.

It has been sunny and hot. On the way out for another 5 mile walk around in mozzie world to the wetlands and lake, Mr C called to see how the van was progressing. It now has a roof and they are working on the gap where there was a roof window above the cab. We’ve said we don’t need a window there if it is easier for them to fix without. They need to make a frame for the hole where it was.

You’ll be relieved to hear we picked up more Macedonian red on the way back. Just to keep us going.

I made a collage of our walk. As you see Mr C is happier, even messing around with his hands on his head to enter the gulag. And our van is no longer in as bad a state as that old farmhouse
