Latest collapse
Due to daylight saving (clocks move forward by one hour) I am again leaving for work in the dark, little more than a week after my departure time was in twilight. The effects of the severe rain storms in February (collapsed road, parts of cliffs falling onto the road, as well as flooding) appeared to be stable. Pedestrians have to be kept away from the edge as is shown in the extra.
Overnight, the rain was again very heavy, and as I was driving to work I saw another big slip of cliff face down onto the road. Someone had put reflective cones around it and a bay across the road for cars to get around the pile of rocks and clay.
Too dark to stop for a photo, and by home time the road was clear again.I suspect that the road is going to remain partially blocked for many months to come, especially with new collapses happening.
