East Evia

Today we went to the eastern part of Evia. We first visited a nice small church "Agiou Ioannis Theologu" in Avlona, however as the road ended we had to walk the last 2,5km. Which doesn't sound that far. But I had to struggle getting back to the car in spite of the fact that it was merely a gentle slope from time to time. Not feeling my old self yet.

We found this little church on google maps. A supposedly old byzantine church. When we arrived it was plastered white as if it was a new church. Fortunately it was just a new outside and still the old inside. According to photos on Google maps it still had an old outside look just a year ago.

From there we went to a small mountain-village, Kymi, with a beautiful view over the sea, where we had lunch and a small city-walk. We ended at the monastery "Moni Metamorfosis Sotiros", which was located very nice, but was unfortunately closed ...
