Saline Ploughing Match 2023

Want some tractors in your life today? When we moved to our smallholding I knew nothing about tractors, whereas now I know almost nothing about them, so I'm improving...

At the start of this year I got an International B275, this a few months after stumbling on the Saline Ploughing Match 2022 taking place just a couple of miles from our place. That gave me the opportunity to see sizes of old tractors in context, and just what they were capable of.

The 2023 edition of the ploughing match took place today, so I hopped on the bike and rode down for a gander. Nice to see a couple of B275s taking part, and a real mix of beat-up old workhorses, and near concours-pristine examples that are still allowed a taste of the mud.

I've got work to do on mine to tidy it up, but sorely tempted to get a small plough and have a go in a bit of our field. And then who knows... For the 2024 match...
