Roger is now seeing almost daily improvement in the sight in his operated eye, as the gas bubble they injected to help keep the retina in place reduces in size. So this afternoon, he felt he was ready to try a bike ride on a quiet section of the bike trail, starting from Mathers Mill. The car park at that spot is right beside the Little Miami River, and we got talking to a couple who had just got off the river, kayaking. As we expected, given the lack of rain recently, they said the river was running low and slow, and there were several spots where you scraped the bottom. The trail is developing an autumn feel to it, with leaves fallen onto the trail, and the leaves on the trees and the crops, such as soy beans, turning from green to gold.
