Thursday: Independence Day

After last night’s late finish it was a bit of a struggle to get up to be back on the road to Belmopan at 0730 for the Independence Day ceremony at 0900.  I definitely felt a bit gritty-eyed throughout the event.    

After the ceremony, it was back to one of the Ministries for refreshments.  I then had to head back home for a meeting with one of my colleagues who is visiting from Jamaica.  You’d never know it was actually a public holiday today.

K and I went out for dinner tonight to ‘Hambre’, Belmopan’s nicest restaurant (admittedly against the backdrop of quite a low bar).
