The Magnolia……

This tree is very large and growing in my garden. The flowers are enormous, almost the size of dinner plates. Can anyone out there name the variety please?
It took some effort to obtain photos of the flowers. They are so far off the ground that I had to stand on a sturdy three-step ladder. Quite safe…. But in light drizzling rain.
There have been some severe weather events in even more centers of the lower South Island today. However the weather band doesn’t look as if it will have much of an effect here in Blenheim. We will wait and see.
