Against the Odds

Well, wasn’t that a lovely surprise? I was expecting a dark morning like yesterday with a little rain thrown in for good measure when I woke up. Against the odds it was actually a beautiful morning and the sun shone as we made our way into the sea. Even the wind was not noticeable. The tide was in and several other bathers joined us as we frolicked in a calm sea. 

Since the daughter and I have had the use of a car on several occasions over the last month we felt we should take it through a car wash and hoover out all the sand from inside before we handed it back. With it looking cleaner than it looked when we got it, we adjourned to the nearest Macdonald’s for celebratory coffees and bacon rolls. 

The sun is still shining, my swimming gear  has been cleaned and is currently dripping outside on the patio and I am looking out on the Meadows where students are sitting on the grass sunbathing.
