Life in a Northern Town

The view of the sea here is hypnotic, it changes in a heartbeat. This afternoon David FaceTimed us and in the space of ten minutes we went from bright sunshine to torrential rain and back to sun again. The forecast for the next couple of days is awful - we’ll hunker down with chocolate, crochet and Netflix. That’s the plan anyway.

Today we had a lovely morning shopping and eating in Barnstaple, followed by more Geocaching in Combe Martin - the plan was to complete a trail of 40 caches,  but John forgot the supplies rucksack (he was Mr Popular….) so after two hours and a mere 10 caches with just a packet of Polos and a bottle of warm, emergency car water, we turned around. The views were spectacular - see extras - that particular spot being the highest point on the SW Coast Path. We’d planned to walk to the beach this evening but the wind picked up so instead, we ate pasta and drank wine. It was splendid.
