Zinnia
This summer has been the most unproductive in my memory, at least as far as growing flowers is concerned. The combination of relentless heat, typical of our summers here in North Central Florida, and much less rainfall than normal took their toll. I spotted this single zinnia bloom and quickly took a photo of it before it dried up. The soil in our area is very sandy so even hand watering almost daily does little to encourage tender flowering plants to grow. Since I believe that this is will be the 'new normal', I'll need to rethink my plantings for next Spring.
