"That's enough I'm off"

Today I planned to take blip photos at the carnival in the next village. Sadly yet another carnival without a parade. The event was just a mass of stalls selling cakes, burgers, and a huge fun fair. I remember the days with a parade of "Rose Queens", pipe bands, fancy dress, and floats. Health and Safety seems to have curtailed all that.

My next disappointment was my camera gave up the ghost, on searching the net and liaising with members of our local camera club, it looks likely the ribbon has gone in the lens :(

Luckily I had a back up camera but it still had zoom lens fitted do as we were on the front row the only thing I could capture was the nostrils of the Zumba dancer in front of me :((

I donned the zoom lens on the camera to "test" the camera body and as I passed the pond on the way home there was the heron .... He let me snap just one and a group of lads kicked a can ... Off he flew and this is one I managed to grab.

Probably one if the best chances to grab this beautiful bird but my reflexes and eyesight and probably the camera settings were all up the shoot !

Never mind I grabbed him in an action shot, thank you lads the ones I'd have planned would probably be boring, its a big blurry but as this bird can move so fast I suppose it was ok. :)
