watched the movie

Some friends and I watched the Barbie movie today. We streamed it instead of going to the theater and I'm so glad. I thought about standing in line and it did not appeal. We also saved money - apparently even matinees are crazy expensive now - I wouldn't know, I haven't been to a movie in a zillion years. Streaming it meant that I could go back and watch what I missed (I fell asleep), and we could pause to discuss etc. The female friend played with Barbies and knew there really had been a pregnant Barbie. The male friend played with action figures and had watched a documentary on Toys That Made Us and had interesting things to contribute. And we got to eat while watching.

Then, when I was driving away from their home, I saw this. I played with it to make it a little more "Barbie land" like.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian forces in the south have "likely made a significant tactical breach" near the recently reclaimed town of Robotyne. The first line of defense is likely much harder, so the next lines of Russian defense will probably be easier to get through.

Ukraine struck a Russian missile ship in the Black sea with an experimental drone and now Russia has to tow it away. This is in addition to the ship and submarine they hit last week, something that is backed by the Institute for the Study of War.

Russia says Ukraine attacked Moscow with drones and disrupted air traffic and caused a fire at an oil depot in the southwest.  At least 30 flights were delayed and six cancelled. (Americans spell cancelled with one l but it looks wrong to me.)

Canada will give $24.4 USD to a UK-led partnership that will deliver air defense missiles to help Ukraine defend itself. The partnership was established in June and includes Denmark and the US.
