The day after...hurricane damage.
I drove out to Eastern Passage this morning to see some of the damage there. This is the boardwalk where over 1000 people walk each day. It is an important part of the community. Sometime within the next couple of weeks I am sure there will be a work party to start repairing the boardwalk. Maybe this time someone will convince the province to come up with some money so the boardwalk can be moved away from the water. It gets damaged by storms on a regular basis, and it is part of a provincial park.
After brunch I decided to go for a walk on the Halifax waterfront, I had not been there all summer. The clouds were starting to move out and patches of blue sky was showing. People were out enjoying the day after the storm. There were still some power outages, made noticeable by traffic lights not working. Drivers seemed to be doing well treating the intersections as 4 way stops.
I got out today to check the magnolia in my yard and it did lose a couple of branches. Also there is an old fan trellis against the house with a trumpet vine growing on it and it pulled away from the house. I will get the vine cut back. The trellis will need to be replaced, but it is another thing the owner has never bothered to get done. I discussed it with her last summer before I even moved in here, I told her that it would need to be replaced.
