Doors Open Day 2
Today, we visited St Mungo’s Parish Church in Cumberland as part of Doors Open Day.
The exterior of the Church Building is shown in the first extra and the Interior is in the second extra. The main photo is a tapestry of the Three Wise Men.
Pat and I were accompanied by ‘Pat2’ and ‘Herr Doktor’ who is celebrating his 83rd birthday today.
There were remarkably few visitors to the church. However, we were given a fine welcome, accompanied with cakes and coffee.
We spoke with the Session Clerk and Minister and discovered an active church providing a wide range of facilities for the community of Cumbernauld.
Afterwards we returned to Herr Doktor’s kitchen table and enjoyed a late lunch prepared by Pat.
Pat and I had made an artwork based on Leonard’s ‘Vitruvian Man’ irreverantly brought up to date and reflecting Herr Doktor’s’ current life style.
Of course that gives him the challenge of finding some wall space in which to hang the artwork.
Afterward’s we drove back home to watch the first programme in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
