The heavy rain persisted overnight. This morning the autumn crocuses which had been upright were bending over. It eventually brightened but we seemed to be 13oC at least cooler than London.

On the bright side the washing machine engineer turned up just after 09:30 and was away just after 10 leaving the machine in fine working order. So the day was split between washing and drying and working on church papers. I also managed to pickle some cucumber. An indoors sort of day.
