Angel On My Shoulder, Burham

At last it's Friday. I love Friday - it means it is much quieter on the trains and it's also Portuguese Custard Tart day on the way into work. I always go to the same coffee shop Monday to Friday but me and my coffee man always greet each other with a big smile as we've now called it "Beer Day" instead of Friday (he always has a beer on the way home and so do I hence the new moniker!).
It's also Custard Tart day, because, as it's the last working day of the week I always buy two of the wonderful desserts from him for me and my brother as a treat, usually to consume as a Saturday indulgence.
Today's image refers to yet more train problems on the way home. When I checked my usual train online an hour before leaving all was well but for some reason (an angel on my shoulder, sixth sense, call it what you will) I decided to double check again a couple of minutes before my usual departure time - and there it was, major signal failure at Victoria. This always sets my heart pumping but I realised if I was quick I could actually get an earlier train that was unaffected. So to be able to catch it I had to do a very haphazard, exhausted sweaty  run/walk to be able to get there on time. I made it with about a minute to spare. My brother was shocked that I was actually going to be early for once!
On getting off the train it turned out I was a good half an hour earlier than usual! Therefore, we got to spend a bit longer at our usual Friday pub, which was rather glorious as the sun was out and everyone, including the bar staff, seemed very happy to be there.
Today's image was taken in the very atmospheric graveyard in Burham where we stopped to capture images on the way home to a ready meal, Top Of The Pops (we're now at early 1995) and a good glass of wine or three. The frantic day all ended with the obligatory Kitchen Night Disco blasting away!

Today's recommenced track is by the Canadian group with the the  brilliant name of Afternoon Bike Ride. I love this track and how it sort of falls apart in the end but in a rather beautiful way.
