The Puffin Rooms Edinburgh
For me it was a busy Thursday. There was a meet up in the morning with the visiting Orkney Selkie in the Art College Café and in the early afternoon a Book Group gathering to discuss Maggie O’Farrell’s book ‘A Marriage Portrait’. Overly long we thought but a good discussion ensued before the cake and tea was produced by a hostess who had actually forgotten she was hosting and had to depend on her husband being sent out to get a cake, any cake but had to be gluten free. It duly arrived and the cake tradition was maintained.
I had just got home when I got an invitation to join two neighbours at the newly opened Puffin Rooms in Lister Square, Quartermile for a glass of wine. This winery deals in expensive cigars and has a whole room earmarked solely for them which unbelievably cost £600 each. I hadn’t even realised that people still smoked cigars- I obviously lead a sheltered life. I think it may prove a popular bolt hole for our moneyed Eastern neighbours well represented in this neck of the woods.
