Thank you for yesterday's kind comments but today has essentially been a repeat of yesterday.

Both my cold and cough have abated but my right ear remains blocked. I have decided to cancel all external commitments for today, tomorrow and Friday and stay home.

Today I read (George and Arthur by Julian Barnes), made roasted cauliflower and caper soup, work on my talk for the end of the month and finished my Gaelic homework.

I did not go for a swim nor will I be attending the Quiz night in the Golf Club but I will now be able to take part on new conversation class. Silver lining and all that. 

In some respects it is actually quite nice just to potter around the house - I am tempted to pencil in a few days like that every six weeks or so.
