Rainy Day Driving
We left the hotel in time to get to 9:30 am Mass a couple towns north of where we stayed. We think they have reconfigured the altar at St. Patrick’s in Morristown. I love the stained glass depiction of Noah’s dove. We had rain and cooler temps most of the day. We took a side trip to “Hungry Mother” State Park in Marion. It was hard to get a good shot of the lake with the same name. The camp sites are way too small and too sunny for our liking. We stopped at Macado’s for lunch. They have an eclectic decorating scheme but the food is good. We found another antique car; it wasn’t as nice as the Camaro. I napped off and on after lunch. Hubby struggled with the heavy traffic and rain. He finally stopped and rested. When we got back on the Interstate, the traffic was backed up and standing still. We lost 30 minutes due to a broken down tractor trailer and further down, two cars involved in a fender bender where the road narrowed due to construction. We are about an hour away from our hotel. We will both be happy to see that nice comfy suite waiting for us. My sister and BIL got to their Maryland home to find a small tornado went through their area in the last day or so. They had some damage but nothing major as far as they have found so far. Folks had trees down and sheds destroyed. My son is still in port so not sure how choppy his section of the Atlantic is today. His room is directly below the captain’s station. I told him he’ll be able to watch the 20 foot waves approach. The rain has stopped here at the moment. Wishing you sunny skies. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by with your kind comments yesterday. “Rain-soaked roads may slow us down, but they also give us an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the world around us.” - Unknownr
