Masai Mara Nature Reserve

Travelled on to the Masai Mara Nature Reserve today and took a game drive in a 4 wheel drive landranger this afternoon.  This elephant was trying to pull up an acacia bush with its trunk, but couldn't get a good enough grip, so she held it with her trunk and kicked it till it broke free and she could eat it. The acacia has thorns that are an inch and a half long, like sharpened matchsticks, and the elephants eat them like lettuce! 

The extra is a pair of bea-eaters ---- beautiful birds.
