Six Graveyards
There is to be a ‘paring down’ of Commonwealth War Graves Commission resources. With some cemeteries having only one grave is there really a need for an inspection team to visit at regularly scheduled intervals?
The Eyes On Hands On volunteers of which I am one are carrying out visits of “our” cemeteries which contain ten graves or less and submitting reports on the condition of the graves before September 16th.
I ‘look after’ twelve local cemeteries and today Sam and I set off to visit the first six, Gerrans and St Just-in-Roseland across the King Harry Ferry before returning to Feock, Perranarworthal, St Stithians and finally the Stithians Methodist Graveyard. Six cemeteries with just twenty-six graves between them.
Sam and I try to visit the church as well and just enjoy the places and each others company.
Scorching hot day, exercise, what’s not to enjoy.
The main photograph is my favourite of the day, the extras are of the six churches..
