Bamburgh Castle.

Looking down over the village of Bamburgh on one side , and a golden beach on the other, a fortification has been on this prominent site since the 6th century. The present castle is a comparatively mordern restoration done in the nineteenth century, when it was owned by Lord Armstrong.
Bamburgh is still largely unspoilt, but it is a favourite venue for producers of fims with a medieval flavour, and it is here that Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton are believed to have carried on their romance among the sand dunes whilst filming Becket.
The Northumberland coast is a wonderful place to relax and rewind, especially in sunny weather.
