The Farne Islands.
We have been spending a couple of days in Northumberland, whilst the weather is good.
There are almost thirty Farne Islands, and nealy half of them are submerged at high tide. They are an important nature reserve and bird sanctuary. They also support a large colony of grey seals.
The Inner Farne is the largest island, and is famous for being the favoured island of Saint Cuthbert, and the place where he died in 687.
It is breeding time on the Farne Islands, and the birds will attack your head if you walk too near to their nests.
