At Home: Inventing Crunchy Cakes!

Ella's home! You know this because pudding cake is back in our house after a week away. In fact Ella's time, canoeing, caving, abseiling, hiking and lake swimming has clearing given her time to think up new cakes.

This evening, she began the usual cake mix. Its is, as Ells calls a 'rough mixture', thats a vanilla mixture with barely mixed in chocolate power. Ells reckons that if you mix the chocolate powder in properly then you lose the chocolate dough texture in the cake.

Usually, Ella's pudding cake is just what it is. But tonight the twist was her frantically bashing up handfuls of shortcake biscuits in a plastic bag with a rolling pin. Then, like a TV chef she began sprinkling the bashed biscuits on top of the cake mixture.
