Sarfend High Street

Was supposed to be going to see a remarkable dance troupe in Sadlers Wells tonight - people over 60 doing Hip Hop.- Riot of Spring. Sadly mum's falling about in bowls on Thursday meant we are sitting in watching Britain's got Talent instead. Mum is recovering with plenty of TLC, chocolate and paracetamol.
I had a nice hour or two shopping in Southend High street this afternoon . It's changed over the years and has a much more tawdry feel since Westfields and Bluewater took a lot of the top end shops. Still, it's a great place to shop for shoes . There are a lot of 'Cash Converter' type shops and 'Mobile Phone Unlocking' kiosks everywhere and a full house of fast food outlets and Gregs . My teenhood Chelsea Girl has moved and is now a River Island but , quite remarkably, Top Shop is in the same place it was 30 years ago. Found a perfect birthday present for my lovely neice Beth and a 'cos you are you' present for Ellie my young'un just because.. Technology is a wonderful thing. I could take a photo and email it to Ellie , ask 'will Beth like this' and have a reply in under a minute. Looked everywhere for Pokemon Cards for my eldest - she says it is a great tension reliever while revising for end of year uni exams . Bonkers as usual.. Finally found them hidden behind the counter in WH Smiths like some dodgy or contraband item

I took this shot quickly with my phone on the way back to the car as I liked the sky and the lines. Had the SLR with me but it stayed in it's case.
Not a bad day all in all . Hope it stayed sunny in blip land wherever you are.
