ARRIVED IN SRI LANKA

We arrived at about 8am. Our luggage took a while to come out and The Rev was truly worried:)
#after spying about 60 tour guides we were lucky to spot our. Please note the company bags we had to wear for a photo opportunity!!
The journey to our hotel was only about 30 but boy did it rain. Our guide said it was an early monsoon!!!!
#our room is simple but massive.
#The Rev was watching the monsoon from our balcony…maybe considering building an ark!!!
#the rain stopped within an hour; enough time to do our mini unpack, so we headed to the pool. The pool overlooks the Colombo lagoon and just across the road is the sea. We spent about 2 hours swimming, reading, and dodging 2 further downpours!!
#oh and drinking beer.
#the hotel grounds are lush.
#we went over the road to sea the beach area accompanied by several dogs. A beautiful sunset ahead.
We had a delicious meal in the evening at the hotel restaurant…all included. The Rev a Sri Lankan curry which consisted of 6 bowls of food!!!! We we’re definitely ready for bed by 8:30!!!!!!

The day marks the start of our Sri Lankan adventure.
