Pre-Alps Reflection in a Pond with No Name.

This was a stunning surprise as I came down from the Croix de Chaux this morning! So many environmentalists, myself included, were against the digging of this mini reservoir on the ski slopes 2 years ago. The ski company chopped up the hillside to lay pipes for false snow making, which of course requires water, hence this pond! I bet they did not know that it could be a beauty spot and I doubt that many other folk know that either, no one comes here between seasons! Please keep it a secret!

The reflection of the Grand Mouveran is even better large, of course, and every day it will be less dramatic as the snow melts. You can see the muddy foreground where the snow has just disappeared.
