The concept of Japanese minimalism is well established in the western psyche with the traditional Japanese home is based on Ma - the balance between space and objects. The idea of simplicity is well established in Japanese culture and when it comes to minimalist design of any sort we imagine that the Japanese know what they're doing and lead the way. When we think of minimalism, Japan with it's clean and simple design trends has been deeply ingrained into our understanding.
