Hampton Court and the River Thames

Today my niece brought her two kids over to my sister's and we set off by bus to Hampton Court to embark on the river boat to Kingston. It was a slow journey as the 'Concours of Elegance' was under way at the Palace. The car park opposite was filled with cars, hundreds of them, many of them worth seeing in their own right. The real show cars, of course, were out of sight except to paying customers! My Blip  today is of the Palace with people pouring in.

We went aboard the 'Yarmouth Belle' for the  35 minute voyage to Kingston, where we picknicked in a sadly disgracefully rubbish strewn churchyard. 'Keep Kingston Tidy' - where are you! The church in question was where my maternal grandparents were married around the time of the Great War.

Came back on the bus and spent the rest of the sunny afternoon in my sister's garden, where the kids played in a water spray and a good time was had by all!
