Dripping wet!

What a wet start we have had to the weekend, although I shouldn't be surprised at all, as the June long weekend in this area is renowned for being dismal and wet.

Surprisingly though, the light of the day produced some rather lovely photos for me, all of my feathered friends, and I've chosen this one for today as Mrs. Duck has a drip of water on the end of her beak. Typical of the day, really.

Ducks really do love the water. After paddling around in the pool for a while, Mr. and Mrs. Australian Wood Duck came up to the house for lunch, hissing at the Rainbow Lorikeets and setting them straight as to who has first dibbs on the plate of soggy bread.

Mrs. Duck headed straight for the tray of water, which she climbed into and splashed around in for a while. Then the two of them spent the whole afternoon in the rain, guarding the soggy remains of their lunch.

I do hope there is sunshine elsewhere in the world this weekend! :))
