Tyntesfield

“The most beautiful things are not associated with money; they are memories and moments. If you don't celebrate those, they can pass you by.”
Alek Wek
Birthday for K1 so we headed off to Tyntesfield for lunch. Managed to miss the showers by doing some indoor wandering when the clouds threatened, but had plenty of time out in the woodland and Kitchen garden next to the beautiful Orangery. Icing on the cake was the call from K2 as we were about to visit the Rose Garden on our way to lunch in the old stables. We were royally entertained by a young mother singing gently to her baby Lyra while feeding at the next table in our stall. Something really rewarding when complete strangers engage in friendly conversation, occasionally joined by the five-month-old who burbled away happily giving her seal of approval to the proceedings. Food was good and filling too, but the wet weather looked settled for the rest of the afternoon so we did a couple of visits on the return journey to Wentwood and Chepstow Garden Centre – K1 is looking for a metal sculpture or similar for the front garden. Too full to go out for the evening so settled for takeaway noodles and sweet and sour instead, not quite soul food but close enough.
