2023 Monday — Steve & Becky

These two have been on California’s coastline since they exited home in Phoenix, Arizona on June 20th. They began their stay in San Diego. They parked their RV there for two weeks and had a blast playing in the cool air of that coastal town.

Then they moved a few miles north to Oceanside, then Huntington Beach, a couple nights in Riverside (to visits doctors and hairdressers), then Santa Barbara (Goleta), and now Pismo Beach for a month. They have enjoyed this summer moving their RV north on the coast a few miles at a time then exploring the surrounding community.

They arrived in Pismo Beach on Sunday, August 20th, just a little over a week ago. They were busy a couple days last week and we had friends here from SoCal last Thursday, so their first few days in our area our calendars did not align.

This afternoon they arrived here about 2:30. Six hours later they were exiting at 8:30 and we still had hours and hours of visiting to do. We had spent a little time up on our top patio, but it was too hot to sit up there in the bright sunshine, so we enjoyed our first hours together sitting here in the cool of our front room watching the ocean and talking and talking.

We barbecued burgers about 5:00 and enjoyed those with potato salad and some delicious Bush’s baked beans. I had sliced tomatoes and onions and had put all the condiments and place settings on the table earlier. It was one of the easiest dinners I had ever prepared for guests. I need to remember and do that again.

Steve & Becky surprised me and brought the most delicious cake for dessert. It was a lovely way to finish our meal.

The four of us have enjoyed a fabulous evening. It was one year ago tonight that we had a farewell dinner together at the Dutchman’s restaurant in Morro Bay (I know that because I recorded that on my blip page back then and I was surprised when I turned back in this journal and there was the evidence — I love Blipfoto for the record I saved here).
