Charleston
An early swim and then a lovely long and interesting walk today. We took a village community minibus (driven and organised by volunteers) to our starting point and then walked through villages and across fields, passing through Charleston (more below) and beautiful Firle estate, to end in lovely Glynde with tea and cake. Then train home.
Blip taken at Charleston Farmhouse: 'A dazzling hideaway of the Bloomsbury Group in the early 20th century (Virginia Woolf, EM Forster, TS Elliot, Benjamin Britten etc), serving as a place of escape and conviviality. We believe in the power of art in all its forms.....'
We spent a little while enjoying the beautiful setting, gardens and interesting sculptures....before continuing our walk.
